Why verify a painter?
Does a painter need an RBQ licence?
Yes. In Québec, a contractor who performs painting work must hold a licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec in the right subcategory. The licence includes a bond that protects the client.
What is the CCQ competency card for?
Commercial, institutional and industrial work is governed by the Commission de la construction du Québec. Only painters holding a competency certificate may work on these sites.
Residential: a CCQ card is not required for residential work, but it guarantees that our painters are trained to choose and apply the right product on every surface, such as bathroom tile, so the finish withstands humidity and lasts.
